Chemists, Engineers, Product Developers, Product and Process Troubleshooters,
Nothing! It is helpful if you are familiar with basic algebra, but even that is not necessary to understanding and applying the methods and techniques taught in this class.
Learn the fundamentals of modern experiment design and analysis in this fast-paced three day workshop.
| How to clearly identify the problem to be solved. | |
| how the interaction among factors affects your results | |
| how to optimize your product or process | |
| how to make contour plots that show your results to customers and management | |
| how to measure and report precision in your results | |
| how to find the most important factors when experimenting on a tight budget.. | |
| how and when to use quadratic designs to solve complex problems | |
You will work in teams of two, collecting realistic data from a hand calculator in four exercises. Each exercise provides practice of the methods learned. The hand calculators serve as substitute labs and factories. The applications studied are taken from R&D projects published by scientists and engineers.
You will learn to use the software during the workshop. You use the software to design experiments and analyze your data. This practice on real problems provides the confidence necessary to use the methods immediately upon returning to work.
Everything you learn is practiced during the workshop. Everything taught is demonstrated by real examples. Questions are encouraged. You won't have any homework.
