Design Generators

We recommend both Gosset and I-OPT.  Gosset can handle more complex problems than I-OPT, but it is more difficult to use.

Applied Statistics algorithm AS 295 (DOPT) --  FORTRAN source code for generating D-optimal designs, available from the site of Alan Miller.

Gendex -- An Australian entry.  It doesn't generate I-optimal designs, but it has lots of interesting capabilities, runs under Windows, and costs only $299.  This link tells about the product, but the email addresses provided are no longer active.  If you want to reach the author, you can reach him at Nam-Ky.Nguyen@cmis.csiro.au.

Gosset -- The Ultimate Design Engine, created by Neil Sloane and Ron Hardin of Bell Labs (runs on UNIX or Linux.) -- (compatible with STRATEGY)

WebDOE -- On-Line I-Optimal Design Generator (compatible with STRATEGY)

Designers and Analyzers

Our Competitors -- Naturally, we recommend our own STRATEGY software.  Still, you might want to check out the competition.  Our idea of the best way to do things may not fit yours.  As the list below would indicate, there are many different ideas of the best way to design and analyze experiments.  The one thing we all have in common -- we all believe that any DOE approach is vastly superior to any OFAT (One Factor At a Time) approach.

Air Acadmey Assciates -- Makers of DOE KISS, DOE Pro, and SPC KISS

Camo -- Makers of Unscrambler and Guideline+.

DOEx -- A Lotus or Excel spreadsheet add-in from Advanced Systems Consultants.

eChip -- The home of Bob Wheeler, out of the DuPont/Robert Kennard tradition that has shaped modern DOE.

JMP -- More general purpose, but with DOE components built-in.  From SAS Institute.

Matrex -- An Excel Add-in by RSD Associates.

MIXSOFT -- Greg Piepel's software.  As the name implies, both MIXSOFT the company and MIXSOFT the software specialize in mixture problems.

Multi-Simplex -- A Swedish Entry in the Field.

NCSS -- Not sure of the product name.

Nutek -- Qualitek line of products, a Taguchi-influenced approach.

PC-QPI -- George Box has a hand in the design of this product.

Quality America -- Makers of DOE PC-IV

RSD Associates -- Makers of Matrex, an Excel DOE add-in

Statistica -- DOE features require purchase of add-on..

Stat-Matrix -- Makers of CARD

STAVEX -- A Swiss Entry from Aicos

STRATEGY -- That's us.  Of course, we expect this will be your choice after you check out what else is available.

Trial-Run -- From SPSS.

Stat-Ease -- Makers of Design-Ease and Design Expert

Umetrics -- Distributors of MODDE
