Prediction Files

Prediction files (plot arrays) have a .prd extension and are kept in the \Strategy\Contours folder. A prediction file is generated for each slice for each response when you create contour plots. These are the files that you use when you view a contour plot, but if you view them with a text editor you will see that they are long columns of numbers. (You may also use programs like Microsoft Excel to graph the data in these files.)

The names of prediction files are assigned automatically and follow a particular structure.

ExperimentName_ResponseName_SliceNumber.prd.

If your design file is called SecretExperiment.des and your first response is Depth then the prediction file for the first slice will be called: SecretExperiment_Depth_1.prd

Note that the slice number is consistent from response to response. For example, SecretExperiment_Depth_1.prd and SecretExperiment_Width_1.prd would have identical settings for all of the remaining factors.
