Regression Purpose

To interpolate predictions you need to run the analysis which computes the b coefficients in the model and allied helpful information. This is called regression. The output from regression will be an OUT file (usually printed but can be viewed on screen) and a COF file of b coefficients needed to help you find the sweet spot. Since the coefficients also appear in the OUT text outputs there is no need to print this COF file.

You must have the names of the appropriate X,Y List and model file showing in the Current Files Panel before you can calculate standard deviations, b coefficients, and confidence limits. If there are no replicates in the design, a prior s entry grid will appear so that you can provide a prior s and degrees of freedom.

If the files named are not the ones you want to use, cancel to return to the Main Menu and get the appropriate X,Y List and model file.
